Cute Pictures

I know that everything I post is about Alek, but let's face it, he does so many new and cute things and well Rafal and I are pretty boring. I take a lot of pictures, but don't always find time to blog, so here are some pictures from the last week and a half.
Addie loves to hold Alek and play with him.
Alek wearing his new pants and shoes. He has the same problem I always have with his pants being too long.
Alek loves to roll around and play.
Alek and his new sippy cup. I thought I would have to show him
how to use it, but as soon as I put it in front of him, he grabbed
it and took a drink.

Alek is a happy boy and smiles a lot.

After each bite of food, he also enjoys having a bite of his toes. Feeding him is becoming difficult as well as very messy!

Alek loves to play with his toys. If I need to get something done quick I just put him in his crib and he'll play for a while.

6 Months Old

We went to the doctor today for Alek's 6 month check up. The doctor said that he's a very healthy baby and is doing well. Alek weighs 17 pounds 10 ounces and is 26 1/4 inches long. He is in the 54th percentile for weight and the 45th percentile for length. Thank goodness he has grown a couple of inches since his last visit. He was only in the 19th percentile for length at his 4 month check up. The plus side to him being shorter is that his clothes will fit him longer length wise. So far he has been able to fit in his 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes for the whole time period. I hope that continues because I went a little crazy when I bought his 6-12 month wardrobe. Not only were they having great baby sales, but I was also finding really cute things. I have found that with boy clothes, when you find something cute, you have to buy it because later on there you may not be able to find anything. Some new things that Alek is doing now are rolling around mostly left, but sometimes right, then kicking his feet and moving his arms to move himself more. Grabbing everything he can reach and of course, putting it in his mouth. Eating 3 meals of solids a day and drinking countless bottles of formula. (He has a very good appetite.) Shaking his head back and forth when we ask him questions or I tell him to say "Mama" or "Tata" (Polish for Dad). Walking when we hold onto his hands. Reaching for people when we put our arms out. Talking, grunting, squealing, and laughing constantly. Sleeping really well at night, fingers crossed this continues since he just got 4 shots today. Smiling and playing all the time. I can't believe he's getting so big. It's so much fun to watch him learn and grow. Each day he surprises me with something new and it makes me LOVE being a mom!

Daddy's Helper

Alek is such a daddy's boy. When Rafal comes home, Alek gets so excited and immediately wants to be held by daddy. Once Rafal is home, I no longer exist. Alek cries for his daddy to hold him, so he usually carries Alek around and puts all of his things away. He holds Alek while he eats and then plays with him until it's time for bed. He is such a good daddy. On Sunday, he had so much homework to do and as he walked by Alek to go and study, he reached his arms towards Rafal and that was all it took. Rafal said, "I really shouldn't because I need to do my homework, but oh well." He picked Alek up and they went for a walk outside, then he put Alek to sleep. Later that day, Alek was in his walker in the kitchen watching Rafal do his homework in the living room and he just sat there grunting and squealing with his arms out. Of course, Rafal gave in and picked Alek up. They did homework together. He was explaining everything in Polish to Alek. When he gave Alek his pencil to help, Alek put it right in his mouth. The eraser was nice and soft to chew on. Alek is so lucky to have a loving and caring daddy.

Terrible Teeth

Alek has been teething for at least two months now, or at least it seems that long. Sometimes they bother him and other times he's fine. This week he has been chewing on anything and everything. He did not have a very good day on Sunday. He finally fell asleep after fighting it for an hour, then he woke up an hour later screaming. I gave him a popsicle and he absolutely loved it. The popsicle was so soft that if he gummed it hard enough he could bite a piece off. He was loving his popsicle so much that even though he was so cold he was shaking he got mad every time we took it out of his mouth. I sure hope that his teeth come in soon so he can go back to being a happy little baby everyday and maybe even taking a longer nap. I'm sure that if it's not his teeth that are bothering him, it will inevitably be something else.

Alek and Mom (He looks cute, I do not)

I love staying at home with Alek, but I feel like I'm busier now than when I went to work. Rafal started school last week, so he's very busy as well. He leaves for work at 5:30 am and we don't see him again until 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm, depending on the day. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I watch my nieces Addison and Sadie. They come to my house on Monday and Friday and I drive to Lehi on Wednesday. On Tuesday afternoons, I am volunteering for a couple of hours at the school that I taught at, so I meet my sister and she watches Alek, then I go and pick him up in Lehi. Thursday is the only day that we don't have somewhere or something that we have to do. It has been a crazy week. Although we've been busier, Alek is still not napping any longer, but at least he's pretty happy when he's awake. Today we took it easy. I didn't even bother getting ready. We went for a nice long walk, took a nap together, shopped for some clothes online, played and then went and swung at our neighbors house. He loves the swing and our neighbor girls all took turns holding him and making him smile.
